About the practice
Proxy Vertex Grid is a measurement practice in Kuala Lumpur focused on onboarding flows for consumer mobile apps. We are hired when product teams have charts but still disagree about where new people give up.
The practice began after repeated readouts with Malaysian and regional consumer-app teams who could show activation rates but could not narrate the first ten minutes. Funnel steps were collapsed. Permission dialogs were invisible in the chart. Account walls appeared as a single “sign-up” bar. We started writing the path the way a careful observer would tell it.
Today we work from Kompleks Pusat Islam, Jalan Perdana,Kuala Lumpur,Wilayah Persekutuan,50480,Malaysia, mostly remote with product teams across Southeast Asia, and in person in Kuala Lumpur when a readout benefits from a shared table.
We open a measurement window, watch first installs, and write. We do not take equity in your app, install a permanent tracking suite as our product, or claim to ship your screens for you. Your engineers keep the codebase. We keep the account of what people did when they opened the app for the first time.
Values that show up in every engagement: name the awkward exit, keep path language concrete, separate observation from recommendation, and leave the shipping decisions with the product owner.

First-session observer
Wei Liang runs observation sittings, timestamps pauses, and flags permission order problems before they reach the full study report.
Report and readout
Priya turns observation notes into the written report your product team can argue with, then facilitates the readout without burying the awkward exits.
First sessions here often mix languages, payment methods, and shared family devices. OTP delays on busy networks and early location asks on dense city maps show up again and again in our notes. We treat those conditions as part of the measurement, not as noise.
